On February 11th, 2019, teachers all across Denver, Colorado go on strike for better and more consistent wages.

More than half of the 4,000 teachers in the district arrived to protest. Many teachers dressed in red gathered at the steps of the state capitol. The teachers are and will be protesting for more consistent wages as well as their “end of the year bonuses” to not be bonuses, rather part of their base salary. End of year bonuses in Denver make teachers’ pay very inconsistent, making it hard to make a living as a teacher in Denver.

The strike has continued another day on February 12th, 2019 and is expected to continue until their demands are met.
