‘Aquaman’, one of the most anticipated superhero movie of the year. A superhero that has been mocked by many due to his ridiculous suit and abilities portrayed in the comics. However, these are not the comics and many were excited to see Jason Momoa, a rather not ridiculous actor, try out the character for himself.

In ‘Aquaman’ we get to see Momoa play this character for the second time, his first appearance being in ‘Justice League’. The first time we saw Momoa as The Aquaman, it is a dark time for humanity and spirits aren’t at their highest. It is only during ‘Aquaman’ that we get to see the comedic side of the famous character that really suits Momoa’s style.

While many people do not appreciate the DC movies that have come out recently, I have to say that Aquaman is a masterpiece of a film. The special effects is amazing and Atlantis looks insanely real, and insanely gorgeous. Of course there is the fact that the characters can now talk underwater, something they couldn’t do in ‘Justice League’, which seems to be something they didn’t think about when filming ‘Justice League’.

The actors portray their characters well while also giving them their own spin. Aquaman is usually either portrayed as very serious or unnaturally goofy with everything he does. Momoa somehow manages to make Aquaman a very real character with both a comedic side and a serious side, though the serious side is rare to see.

The secondary villain in the movie, Black Manta, was a slightly odd addition to the movie but was seemingly worth it as his last scene in the movie is an awesome clip and sets up any future ‘Aquaman’ sequels perfectly. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, the actor that portrays Black Manta, was a great choice for the part. He plays Black Manta perfectly as a man after revenge for the death of his father. Overall, the characters were played very well by their respective actors and I recommend the movie to any DC fans out there.
