The last time the hogs played they lost 48-7 to Alabama. No Arkansas fan expected them to win that game. Arkansas is now 2-6. Nick Starkel did start for the hogs that game as he threw 3 interceptions. Then they put John Stephen Jones in for him which he actually scored a touchdown on Alabama’s starting defense, which is pretty good for him considering that he has barely had any experience as a college football starting quarterback. Arkansas offense was actually moving the ball early in the game but due to a bunch of mistakes, they couldn’t get points up early in the game.

This weekend the hogs play Mississippi State which many believe is a winnable game for the hogs. The bulldogs are 3-5 this season. Chad Morris told the media that the hogs will when this game. Chad Morris still hasn’t got a conference win at Arkansas and this is his second year as head coach for the hogs. Chad Morris also said that the starting quarterback for this game will be a game-time decision. Not only this but he also told the media that they have been working on some packages with KJ Jefferson which many hog fans want to see him play as he is supposed to be really good. Mississippi State is favored by 7.5 points to win this game. Nick Starkel and Ben Hicks haven’t been doing good this season so who knows the hogs might decide to play a young quarterback and see what happens because Arkansas desperately needs a win and especially an SEC win which would give them a bunch of momentum heading into the next game.
